“The Budapest Symphony Orchestra is altogether a first-class orchestra, up to the best standards anywhere.
It is a supple and homogeneos group, with proficient first-desk players, smooth ensemble and a rich sound.”

– Harold C. Schonberg, New York Times

Can We Help You?

Modern computer technology with high end softwares makes it quite easy for composers to write their music. No matter how great the synthesized sounds are becoming, however, there is nothing like a professional symphony orchestra that plays your music.

The Budapest Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1992 by members of the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra to help aspiring composers, movie or advertisement projects record their scores in exceptional quality.

If you are a composer working in film scoring, whether it is a movie project or a part of a PR campaign; if you are a professional soloist and you’d like to record your own CD and you need a professional symphony orchestra for that, we’re here to help you achieve your goals.

We have worked with world renowned composers and outstanding solo artists over the past 2 decades and we feel honoured to be chosen for the realization of a musical project in any genre of your choice. Our symphony ensemble consists of outstanding orchestral and solo artists, please scroll down and look at the reviews and some musical samples to check the quality we are able to deliver.

We are looking forward to working with you on your next CD or scoring project.

“The Hungarian audience can hardly have expected with greater excitement Klemperer’s first appearance at the Opera House sixty years ago as it did Ádám Fischer’s conducting Wagner at the Palace of Arts this time. Ever since Parsifal’s brilliant production last year we tend to believe that it is possible to stage an opera on world standard in Hungary. The Budapest Symphony Orchestra and Ádám Fischer have the credit for it. It is almost inconceivable that an ensemble unaccustomed to stage performances should be capable of playing a piece by Wagner, by the way not regularly on its programme, in a way surpassing the orchestras of large opera houses.”

– Zoltán Rockenbauer (Budapest, Wagner Days)

What Makes a Great Film Scoring Orchestra?

Soundtracks are mainly recorded in studios, by orchestras that have to fulfil a number of requirements. These requirements include the ability to match the pace of music to previously recorded frames and they also need to have experience in playing a great variety of music from modern to jazz through opera.

We have been working with exceptional conductors in well equipped studios where acoustics fulfils the requirements of a single member band to even a larger symphonic orchestra.

We love recording soundtracks, it’s like going on an exciting journey with the composer, in our minds’ eye we can see and feel the actors’ playing out that emotional effect that the screenwriter, the director and the composer want to convey.

We have proudly worked with world renowned composers like Ennio Morricone, Pino Donaggio, Iliaraja, Armand Amar.

Listen In On Our Work

“When we have the possibility to do things with a bigger orchestra than in Paris, we integrate into our work this possibility, since we know we can come here and realise a larger project. And there is something else, it is that we “tombe sur le cul en voyant cette ville” (…we fell on our backs seeing this city)… Yes, the city is magnificent. And the outcome of the work is good… perfect… we work with excellent technicians… Voilà!

– Barnard Arcadio & Jacques Ehrhart

“When I write a certain type of music, I know already in Paris, that Béla Drahos (the conductor) will bring the orchestra even higher that could have expected. It is very important for a composer to find a conductor who understands his music. I think that in Béla I practically found a kind of twin. For me this is not a financial question anymore. Here I have a team and I just want to work with them. And Ildikó, the concertmaster is magnificent, with whom I am always very happy to work. And all members of the orchestra.., well, after 8 years of recording together, they get to know my methods of work and the kind of music I write…

– Carolin Petit

Concerts

Besides doing studio work on a daily basis, being a professional symphony orchestra we also give many concerts in Hungary and abroad. We have accompanied outstanding classical, jazz and pop artists through the years as we are very passionate about performing live. (There is nothing like the appreciation and love of a live audience.)

If you are looking to perform or have your masterpieces played at a concert or a series of concerts, we are happy to be at your service.
